Why I switched to Polywork for my personal website

A couple of months ago I stumbled across a tweet from Brian Lovin, asking people with varied interests and skills to participate in a round table discussion. Being a product designer, web designer, photographer, streamer, musician, developer and more I thought I might be a good fit (plus who’d give up the opportunity to have a chat with Brian?). Little did I know I had just stumbled upon the most exciting, up-and-coming professional network out there. Something truly game changing.

That network, if you haven’t guessed already, is Polywork. A place tailored to us multi-players, to those who don’t fit within a clearly defined box delineated by a simple role or title.

It resonated with me instantly, and I loved it. 💕

Changing the way I think about work

At the time I was using Notion + super.so as a way to showcase my work, and it was… ok. However, I felt that the price was a little much for the ability to add a domain name to my Notion page, not to mention the SEO was just terrible!

Being used to other professional social networks, you know the one, Polywork’s changelog style of representing my work seemed revolutionary, and it completely changed my outlook. So much so that I decided to ditch my Notion site entirely and use my Polywork page as my personal home page. In a matter of minutes I connected my custom domain to my Polywork profile and 💥, I was off to the races!

Rather than adding positions and roles with a list of duties, and writing long comprehensive case studies, why not talk about work the way it really works? On Polywork you share activities as they happen, regularly, and with tags that are tied to specific categories of work (UX design, user testing, etc.).

Polywork also makes it much easier to get discovered by being part of a growing professional network known as the Polywork multiverse and yes, that is a Marvel reference. Forget all the work that goes behind maintaining the SEO of your personal site 🥵. Just add your work, tag it, and you’re discoverable on a network with some other incredible people. ✨

The future’s looking bright

The future of Polywork excites me even more than the present.

The network grows more and more every day, making that multiverse even more comprehensive and discoverable. The team at Polywork also makes sure that feedback is actively heard and integrated into the development of the product. I’ve personally seen my ideas get taken and implemented within the next sprint!

Beyond that, there are loads of new and exciting features on the horizon (which I can’t specifically mention here 😉) that will make it an even more amazing place to share my work and yours too!

So, what are you waiting for? Join the multiverse!
